National Care Service

National Care Service

The Government has publically expressed its desire to 'co-design' the NCS with those who have direct 'lived experience' of social care. Yet, it has made a 'back room' agreement with COSLA and HSCPs to 'share responsibilities' with them over the delivery of social care within the new framework. This 'back room' arrangement has angered many who have spend many hours of their lives participating in these 'co-design' sessions. Many, especially those who haven't experienced being asked their opinion before, are now wondering why they have wasted their time, when such back room deals are done . How will the Government deal with this division of acountability and the ongoing 'post-code lottery' of service delivery, let alone the lack of trust in those with lived experience of services.
