Restricting advertising of unhealthy food

Restricting advertising of unhealthy food

The 2018 Diet and Healthy Weight Delivery Plan outlines a series of actions to restrict advertising of products high in fat, salt and sugar (HFSS), including working with local authorities and public transport providers to develop a code of practice to restrict advertising of HFSS products in these and other outdoor settings. However, to date no action has been taken. Within the scope of the powers currently available, when will the Scottish Government bring forward legislation to restrict advertising of HFSS products in outdoor settings/public spaces? NOTE: Aspects of this question were discussed in Committee on the 12th September 2023.
