The pharmacotherapy service (which embeds greater numbers of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers in GP practices to provide pharmacy and prescribing support for patients) is working well in small dispensing practices in rural areas. There is a struggle to recruit GPs in remote and rural areas, but this provides an opportunity for pharmacists to become integrated into the team.
