Despite Scotgov funding (£80,000) being allocated in 2022 there is still no LC treatment service for patients in D&G. After suffering for 18 months I first wrote to D&G NHS in late summer of 2021, again in mid 2022 and sent a FOI request in November 2022. These responses, barring a few words, all repeated the same thing - that a service, involving allied and mental health professionals, was imminent. An update by D&G NHS was sent to the LC inquiry in Feb 2023 and stated the service had a specialist GP starting at that time. None of this has yet occurred, the only contact we have is a non-medical occupational therapist (who sends you back to your GP) and severely disabled patients (including children) are left fighting multiple departments for recognition and treatment on their own. NOTE: Aspects of this question were discussed in Committee on the 12th September 2023.
