Why are Community Link Workers in Glasgow being cut?

The Glasgow Community Link Workers Programme is to be cut by a third. This cut will badly affect the people who need it most. Community Link Workers are based in GP practices in the most deprived areas of Glasgow, helping people facing issues that impact their health and wellbeing such as poverty, loneliness, housing, debt and abuse. How does the Scottish Government’s commitment to expand the number of Community Links Workers relate to the cuts in the tender document issued by Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP)? What monitoring and review the Scottish Government takes to ensure that the commitment it has made is carried through to delivery? What plans it has to develop and support the Link Worker Programme going forward, and whether it has provided specific money for it?
