Palliative care access & delivery in remote and rural areas is an identified inequity. Challenges can be evidenced through the 4As: Availability - workforce recruitment & retention, equipment & technology Accessibility- to palliative & end of life support Accommodation - the condition of terminally ill people’s homes & ensuring homes are fit for purpose to receive palliative & end of life care, and to die there, if that is their wish Affordability - those living in rural & remote areas face a higher cost of living even before further costs due to terminal illness which Marie Curie projects are between £12-16,000 per year.
